Default Fishing Reels

Say you are looking for a fishing reel in around the $200 range. What's your pick?

Spinning: 2 Shimano Spheros
Baitcaster: 2 Abu Garcia 5500's or a Shimano Curado

For 200? I'd get 2 Abu Garcia 6500 C3 reels.

Thanks for the replies. I should have specified baitcast.

When the Curados were in the $100 price range, they easily outclassed most everything in their price range. I was just curious if they were still the go to reel since they jumped up to the $200 class reels.

The $200 curados are basically the old version of the chronarch, with just a few cosmetic differences. The citicas are now the curados.

Personally, I'd find a new of the older green curados. They can be had for around $80 or so.

I have had bad luck with the Abu's. I have 2 of the C-3's. One broke the second season i was using it....and they both are terrible at staying "tuned in" lure to lure. I just havent been that impressed with them. I see that Rebel hog loves them though!
