First of all it depends totally on the water and structure I'll be fishing...I have a set of rods I use for open water pits and a set for heavy weeds and structure..This morning after home church...I went to a heavy structured Saddle Creek..All worming or jigging is done with 15 pound Power Pro..Why..because it's only 6lb test diameter and nearly unbreakable..i also carry a rod with 10 pound Suffix momo for the rest of the lures you mentioned.


To be honest ..I fish many diferent rod and reel combos for the lures below..BUT MOST OF THE TIME I worm fish though with a 7 foot Legend Finwick / Revo Baitcaster combination or a 6 1/2 ' Team Diawa Spinning Medium Heavy with a Shimano Symetric 2500 ..

smaller swimbaits i will not go below. a medium heavy 6'6". bigger swimbaits, you need atleast a heavy 7'6".

weightless worms i like a stiffer medium or medium heavy.

topwater and frogs, medium heavy 6'6" minimum. you really need the backbone on those hook sets. and to work em right.

pretty much my favorite set ups are a stiffer medium rod or a medium heavy. and i like my daiwa 7'6" heavy action. those are my favorite rods. i take them everywhere. i bring my other rods but they will most likely not be used(left in the truck bed.

btw, 8 pound suffix elite is my favorite line. it can handle big baits or can be finessed. i have been landing lots of 4-6 pound fish lately. it handles them greatly. i have been using it on a medium heavy 6'6" spinning rod. i like to go out at night and throw huge topwater baits. trust me, youll be fine. one of my go to lures for night is a 5 or 6 inch saltwater super spooks. its huge, that means big fish. no worries with it

I'm experimenting this year, last year all I used was 12lb trilene XL and 4lb Cabelas, I just got back into fishing last year, I shouldn't say back in, I never really stop fishing just slowed down a whole lot. My son actually got heavy into Bass fishing and I just climb onboard. I get to spend a lot of quality time with my son and Grandson[/align]Joe[/align]
