Bait???

Well, in a couple of days I'll be heading down to the hunting land to start getting things together for firearms season. At the bottom there is a small river that I've always wanted to fish. I just have never found the time. But while I'm down there I want to try. What bait should I use? I would preferably like to pursue catfish. Thanks

lethal is correct in finding out what fish are available to you in this small river. If it is that small I would be surprised if you have catfish in it. Once you find out what fish you have let us know!

RE: Bait???

I have caught channel cats in some decently small creeks. My advice is catch some rough fish (creek chubs) or bluegill and use cut bait in the deepest pool preferably with some structure to it.

Nightcrawlers are without a doubt the best bait worm on the market!
