left 9lbs right 14 lbs estimated leangth at 35'' to 40''

my first goldeye. caught it in the Red Deer river last night. this is areallysmall one, but thoght i'd post anyway. earlier in the day i lost a bigger one (the bank is so steep and we never had a net so when i tried pulling it up the bank my spinner popped out).

Hey moosehunter, you should try and fish a slip bobber w/ a small pc of night crawler. I went out last night and caught 25 goldeye's in about an hr on the Red River in Winnipeg. Here's what we use them for..... as well as smoking them for eats. They really don't take catch and release very well. Try not to reel them in too hard or you rip there lips off.

thanx 4 the tips. i tried letting that one go but like you said it doesnt work out to well with them so i brought it home. nice cat fish. Havn't seen one be4 except in pics. Did you catch it in the same river?
