cutthroats

i posted this a while ago but not sure where it is so ill post again........
going on an outdoor ed trip next week and im brining along my rod for cutthroats. ive never fished them before but i havefished a lot ofrainbows. For rainbows i use a worm and garlic marshmellow and back swimmers rigged with a casting bubble for when they are surface feeding. Will this work for cutthroat trout to? if not wat do u guys use for them? thanx

fly rod or spinning. i have fished for them a couple times and they are so pretty and if your using fly use a stone fly and a peasant tail nymph about 20 inches behind it. dont forget about the ice melt so i dont think your gunna be allowed to fish everywhere cuz the spawn

First off where r u gunna be fishing?? What type of body of water are you fishing??

For fly fishing if they are coming to the surface id say this time of year use a Blue Winged Olive, Mosquito, March Brown, or if you want the flies down under the water i would suggest the ones childers had suggested as well as a catatonic leech, evil weevil, prince nymph, san juan worm.

If your using bait, i would suggest worm, salmon eggs, corn, cheese. Ive found all of those tend to work awesome on pretty much all trout.

If your gunna be doin some spin fishing, i would use some small panther martin spinners, i tend to have the best success with the ones with a yellow body and red or black dots on it and a silver spinner blade. Ive also had amazing success on a small red/white or black/white spoons.

If you use any of the above im sure you will catch a cuttie no problem.

thats true also and to add to the spoons the red and white should be mainly red with white stripes or dots

I actually find that the spoons with two white stripes and one red stripe work the best. Ive used the one that is mainly red and ive found to have more hits on the more white one but it does depend on the area.
