There are many great top water lures..the deal is if something works fo rme a rarely change...I wish I could find some old Mepps Comet..they were some awesome lures man..I tore the crappie up with them.

here in indiana the lucky craft will out fish others 5-1 but they are pricey so i don't throw them in lakes that have a lot of pike

Fortunately here in Indiana there aren't exactly a ton of lakes with pike in them
