Default Cape Fear Coastal Charters Fishing Report

Well guys it is time to plan your summer vacations and i thought i would give you an idea of what is going on here so mabey you can make a trip down and go out with us on a charter to have a blast.

Inshore: We are catching some flounder and trout as well as a scattered drum or two here and there. The spot and whiting are biting every where with two boats reporting catches of over forty fish in a few hours. A few black drum are being caught, but it is now time for the pinfish to move in and steal the biat they love the most....Shrimp.

Nearshore: The cobia or as some people call them ling fish have started to show up in decent numbers next to the beach and it should do nothing but continue to heat up over the next few weeks steadily. These fish are a blast to catch and can get well over 80 lbs. The KIng mackeral have also moved into the beach with many short strikes coming because of the bait size but when the bigger baits get here you will catch them consistently. The Spanish Mackeral and Bluefish have arrived in big numbers and it looks like a banner year for them right now. Everything is going as planned right now as far as fish showing up on time which has been rare the past few years.

Offshore. The bite is on FIRE. Limits of King mackeral at just about any wreck past twleve miles out. These can be 8 to 30 lb fish this time of year and there is always a chance of catching that elusive 40 lb plus king. We have been burning the grouper up lately with many catches over ten fish along with many other types of bottom fish waiting to bite your hook. The Mahi-mahi have shown up at 25 miles off teh beach just not real thinck yet. The gulf stream has been slow except for MAHI right now. The fishing will be better this coming weekend as it is supposed to be rough for 4 days allowing fish to stack up in a spot without any fishing pressure.

We have many days open this summer. Give us a call and book a trip soon before your spot is taken.
