First Hog Bass
 

My 7 yr old hooked into hislargest (5lb) smallie this evening. He thought he snagged up at first until the snag tugged back. It's a good bass for the waters we fish and gave his little ultralight rod a workout.

We may catch some flack from you pro bass anglersfor this one, but we kept it. He wanted to show it to his mom and we didn't have the camera with us. It'll end up in the fry pan.

SHAME on you ! That fish belongs on the wall. :)Awesome fish. I'm really surprized he got it in. A 5 pound smallie is a very tough fish to bring in....for anybody.That is truly a trophy.

Eating it would be great but forgotten by breakfast the next morning. Serve him fish for dinner one night and surprise him with it mounted!!! Definetly something that he will love for the rest of his life!
