Missing baitcaster guide

I have a baitcaster rod which is missing one guide. I bought a set of fugi guides off ebay yesterday. This is my second rod fix. I simply put the guide where it needs to go and mix up some JB Weld. carefully spread around guide.let dry over night..works for ever.;)

Getting toothpicks out of bullet sinkers.

I use a paperclip..straightened out...I keep it with my worm hooks and sinkers..it straightens out to 6 " so it stays visable. Works like a charm. ALos makes good pick for getting out back lashes.

Need to charge your cell phone.

Walmart carrys a cigerette lighter that simply clamps on to your marine battery ..2.48 You could also use it for your aerator or lights. Rubber coasted ot make it water proof. Simply store in your tackle box until you need it. Clamps on your terminals.

Gettng Lost..

I carry a compass and flagger tape..Last year my battery was goign dead..I was lost. because we have 100s of islands..Simple solution ..Tie red flager tape on a few braches..NOT WHERE the fish are.:)
This helps alot. Once you learn your lake..please go back and remove the tape .

Chuck, Is this cig lighter in the marine section or in the automotive section. I've been looking for something like this to hook my XM radio up on my boat. Great tip.

The cig. lighter is found where the marine things are sold..

When I went last week I saw something new and neat..a plastic box that holds your battery. There is a guage on it that indicates how much energy you have left and 2 cig. lighters...it also has additional post sticking out.for 60.00

I thought...hey why not go to the auto department and mount my own lighter...4.60 then I looked more and found a rubberized one in the marine department for 2.59. I bought it .I also went back and bought the male thing that goes into the cig. lighter.{With 2 wires sticking out}This way I can hook my aerator pump to those 2 wires or lights..etc. The male part is 4.89 The lighter comes with to spring loaded clamps that simply attachto your battery.
Good deal huh.;)

Wow, that is really cool. I wish I would've heard about these before I finished all the wiring on the boat [:@]. Oh well.

I got one here. I don't know how many people know of this one, but I haven't seen this one anywhere besides Salmon-A-Rama. Take a 5 gallon bucket, empty of course, and a3 length of PVC piping wide enough to slide the handle of a rod into. Cut the pipe into two 1.5 footish sections. Take one lenght and place on the side of the bucket at a light upward angle and mark two spots about 3-4" apart on the pipe. Now on each of those marks drill a hole big enough for you to get a screw gun/driver through with a screw. Next step is already outlined for ya. Screw your pipe into the side of the bucket, angling upwards a little bit (30 degrees or so is generally good). Repeat on other side and trim the screws down on the inside of the bucket.Put a bunch of silicone caulk around the srew area on the inside and let it dry.

Also, instead of screwing the pipe to the bucket you can bolt them on by just drillin a second small hole goin through the larger one, thread the bolt head through the holes and add a washer or two and the nut on the inside. Add you caulk and you're good!

You now have a bucket to hold your bait and rods. Just fill it up with water/something heavybefore you set your rods in and you can fish.

I'll try to post some pics of this, this weekend when I'm home.
