Default Big thanks to Josh

Last year I posted a question about why I was not being able to set the hook on my Texas rig when flippping and pitching..I was using a 6 ' Lightening Rod..Everyone gave their advice etc. but Josh made it easy..He simply said, "Purchase a 7 foot rod." Welll.....I finally did just that..

Oh my...what a difference..I picked up my 6'Berkley Bionix today after casting all morning with my 7 ' Team Diawa...the Berkley felt like a baseball bat..anyway ..thanks for the advice Josh.
Some thngs I noticed going from a 6 to a 7

Pitching is much better. The lure goes smoother, farther.

Hook sets are much easier...less effort and drives the hook through thejaw bone.

Extreme sensitive....you can feel the slightest nipple...less fish lost.

Light as a feather...you can pitch for hours.

When fighting fish you are in control instead of quick reelings and pushing the button..Just pump that baby in and it's much easier steering around things like the trolling motor and other lines.

OH!!! and my cast are going much farther..with no backlashes.

Well, I'm going back to get another 7 foot Diawa..I love that rod man.
The Pinnacle was awesome too..with a 6.2 ratio, 9 ball bearings...the fish dind't stand a chance. They came in smooth as molasses

I'm now throwing 90% of my lures with a 7'6" or 7'11" rod leverage is a great thing in fishing.

Hey Josh,,
I just got back from Wally and got their last 7 footer..another Team Diawa. You are correct about the leverage...better hook sets with out the effort and easier getting fish in. Pitching is easier too. I simply swept the rod side ways and with the long rod{When pitching}they basically hooked themselves. Team Diawas appear flemzy which makes for almost automatic hook sets ..like fishing for crappie with a light rod.

You and Onseshot7 have certainlyhelped improve my bass fishing. I remember last year..I was either not hooking them or gettng broken off.
Thanks alot,
C7
