Jacksonville Lake, IL Smallmouth?
goherd1111 could probably answer this for me. Our club fishes Jacksonville every year. We were aware of smallmouth being stocked about 4 years ago. Has anyone had any luck yet in catching keeper smallies yet at Jacksonville?

RE: Jacksonville Lake, IL Smallmouth?
bfulton, I have heard about smallmouth being stocked in the lake. However, I moved to jacksonville in Nov. of 03 and have fish the lake on a regular basis (3 - 4times per week) and I have never caught a smallie out of it. Thats not saying that they're are not there. I did overheara guy last year saying he caught one off of a point. However, I haveno proof. To make a long story short, I will have to see it to believe it. Its hard for me to believe that they are in there when I have fished this lake so much and never caught one or even seen any hard tale evidence of them being there. Let me know if you have heard anything different. I to have been curious since I read the article in IL game and fish, that mentioned it being stock with SM.

I'vebeen roadtrippinmany timesandended up at theinfamous "My Bar".
The smallmouth...Same thing goherd says. 'rumor has it' that they've been stocked, but i've never seen one, or heard firsthand of one being caught. I don't fish that lake real often, but I'm usually always in the area. Well, not right now, I'm spending most of my weekdays in Stl. But if people started really getting into them, word would spread like fire.
