everytime i fish lanier i never get anything. but all the other lakes i do. you just have to go deep and shiny. and match the color of the bottom

I catch them all the time through the ice while fishing for bluegills and crappie. I fish with small colored jigs on #6, #8 or #10 hookstipped with either wax worms or maggots. They aren't the target species and they can really tear up your equipment on 4 pound test in shallow weedy water. it always is fun to get them though and some days they bite so often they are a nuisance.
