A good depth finder with speed and temp,Down riggers, planer boards,6-8 rods, many of the guys use a temp guage on the down rigger ball.

Lures,spoons,J-plugs,cut bait rigs, fly, squid. You'll need dodgers, for your cut bait rigs.

I'd go on a couple carters first suck some knowledge off the guides.

Don't forget your ship to shore radio.

Dipsey divers.

Some of the best days I've had on Ontario I usewd 15 lbs test, but the darn water fleas were ruining the line every day.

You are also going to want a GPS, a couple sturdy nets, down rigger releases and beer.

I'd go with a Cannon or a big john downrigger.

Don't worry about it. I would definately get a few guys together and do a Charter, especially if you don't know someone that knows how to "run the boat" and can help you out at first.

Most people use a trolling reel.

I use Penn's and Diawa's

You have to put alot of line on. In the summer you'll be going deep.

You might be able to get away with a big spinning reel when the fish are up or when flat lining like at this time of year.
