Swimming worm

Do the swimming worms work or are they just Tv gimmicks?
Some people say they are useless, but others say you just have to use them right, use the right one, right color on the right river, try to match water color and even depth. I never used them before so I was kind of curios.

RE: Swimming worm

sorry weiterer, just noticed this post, is it a gimmick? yes, will it catch more fish than other worms? hard to say, right now in these parts though many people are using a swimming worm technique, but the are using 10-11" zoom, yum,and v&m plastic worms, they rig it texas rig with a very light (1/8oz weight) and swim it thru hydrilla and millfoil, they say it is deadly, but i prefer fishing a jig in and around the same stuff

but to answer your question, the swimming worm is in the same catagorey of the flying lure, the helicopter lure, and other "TV infomercials" designed to catch more fisherman than fish, yea the adds looks good and i'm sure they'll catch a fish or two, but there is no such thing as a majic bait, if your in the area of a feeding bass he'll hit shoehorn;)
