Pontoon boat trolling motor mount
 

I just purchased a Minkota power-drive. The problem is, my boat has an eight inch (8) railing across the front deck. Any body got any ideas on how to mount the motor without cutting/removing the front rail? Front deck is only option.

You don't mention if it is a foot controlled motor or tiller controlled? Makes a big difference in how you could mount the motor.

My apologies: Deck mount with foot control. I would think the optimal position would be absolute middle of the boat but my front deck has this low railing in the way. I think I could get it to work with a piece of 2X6, and one of those Minkota quick disconnects but I'm not sure. Again, open to any suggestions.
