caught my biggest northern
Last week I went to Canada and during the trip I caught a 14.5 lb northern. I caught it with my brother's buddy on two dare devles. You see we're fishing and all of the sudden my friend hooks into a big one then bout 10 seconds later I hook into a big one while my friend is still fighting his. Then we realized we both had the same fish. O nce we got him in our canoe we looked inside his mouth and sure enough there were two spoons hooked into him. I am going to get him mounted

14.5lbs is a good fish. I would guess anywhere b/w 36-39" depending on the body of water. Where were you? Canada is a pretty big place. LOL
I think prime time on big northerns is last-ice, when the big females start to stack up near creek mouths and put on the feed b4 spawning.

we were about 40 miles northeastof Fort Frances on Turtle River and we motored to Eltrut lake from our camp also. We'd been there before but never caught a northern over 7 but now we hammered the biguns. we think they were biting so well because along with the big ones we also got lorts of norrtherns that were less than a pound so we think that they were feeding on the small northerns. we also saw two big northerns bite small ones as we reeled em in
