RE: Who likes them Flatheads!
my uncle lives in St Louis
He has 14' solid fiberglass rods, and then like 40' of 100 lb stage line and 6/0 hooks - a HUGE jon boat and he bought himself a battery powered hammer drill
Why ?
He'll find a likely spot out in the Missour river on a jetty, and then drill 2-3" down on a rock, insert fiberglass rod and voila! instant pole fishing.
He can spend 3 good nights and have several hundreds of pounds of flatheads and blues

I found the best way to catch catfish on a lake...At night with a flashlight and a boat...Use a push pole in 2 ft. of water or less to move your boat around..You can spot them and drop your bait right on their noses and they will nail it everytime...We have caught some 30+ inch channel cats doing this and atleast a dozen in a couple hours....Good work out to for the arms....

The 123 lb flathead came from kansas. My personal biggest was 30 lbs. Caught it on a crawdad. My nightbor has caught a lot of monsters on set lines. He'd go set his lines after work, when he got off work the next day he would run them. Then clean 150-225 lbs of flatheads.
