What size battery would work for a 36LB minn kota endura ? Putting on a 14ft grumman. Amp hrs needed etc......how long will it run on the battery as long as I keep it on a low speed. Has 3 reverse & 5 forward.

your just a wealth of "link" info RH .....so I guess that 115 amp hours I saw for $80 will work fine.

For a fully charged battery at 70° F (21.1° C), the ampere-hour rating divided by the load in amps will provide the estimated life of that cycle. For example, a new, 72-ampere-hour battery with a 10-amp load should last approximately 7.2 hours. As the battery ages, the capacity is reduced.

slug, go to wal mart and get the $65 yellow everstart maxx. The reserve on them is 205 ah, and they are made by the same company that makes optima (johnson outdoors)

I got a yellow Maxx and it just died in exactly 12 months. It is an 18 month battery. Last week Walmart let me switch it for a new one and gave me 8.50 to boot. I love Wally World.:)

My best luck has been with Sears Batteries.Haven't bought one in 4-5 yrs as store is about 40 minutes away.

Don't remember who makes them, but always got 3+ yrs out of any of their batteries. I've always tryed to get hold of the 900 amp battery. If you fish around alot of slop weeds,algae etc... that tend to load up the prop and put more demand on battery.The bigger the battery the better, and usually get more trolling time. Always worked for me

Batterys are like getting the best gas milage outa your vehicle - it all depends how you use it and under what conditions.

BTW - I hope you guys have better luck with Wally Wal-Mart batteries.
I never got more than 2 yrs out of 2 batteries I purchased there.
Strike 2 - your outa here - never buy another.

im on my 2nd year on this set, the set before lasted me a little over 3 years. I charge them as soon as i get home, and keep a maintainer on them every second of the day, unless im out fishing.

picked one up last night and its all ready to go. Put it on my neighbors "smart" charger and will be trying the boat and trolling motor out tonight. Ended up with a 115 amp hrs and 160 reserve. From my calculations I should be good for at least 6 hours. Let you know how it goes.
