sand pit for Crappies

Does any fish for crapies in sand pits .I discovered this sand pit and we have caught many 14-16 inch crappies out of it. I'm also wonderin about how many pounds that is.

A fat 14" crappie is probably gonna run close to 2 pounds. Fat and 16 inches is probably close to 3. I caught a nice 14" black Crappie about 5 years ago and she weighed 1.75 pounds.

A 16" crappie should weigh 2+ pounds. If it's paper thin it should still weigh 1.5 #.
