Yeah Guss. it seems there areis lot of memoroable equipment failure over the years. I remeber breakin' three rods on one fishing trip. OUCH!!.

The best advice i can give u is to practice hard....have some fun....and have a lot of extra flies;)

I wait for the sales, like 2 for a buck at garts sporting goods for the standards which for me is the bead head pheasant tail nymph and the stimulator. Copper johns as well. The specialty stuff costs more and I use so little of it that I dont mind paying 1.5$ for a fly once every two weeks. EJ

There are planty of shops on-line that sell flies as low as $0.65 You will loose alot of them on at first like every fly fisherman in the first year.
