Lure Builders Aboard?

Anyone else enjoy building their own fishing lures?

I enjoy making musky lures from scratch.

I wish I could figure out how to post pictures these days; it seems they've changed the way its done.

Anyway, does anyone build spinnerbaits, buzzbaits, crankbaits, jigs, spoons, glide baits, etc?

Yep - been making lures for almost 20yrs. Got tired of buying junk.

Spinners,buzz,inlines,few flies,bucktails,bass jigs etc..

Going to start making some stick baits someday real soon. They have a new Gander Mountain close by, that as I recall has all the materials needed to make stick baits. Matter of fact they have one hek of a fresh/salt water fishing department.

Buckhunter those baits look GREAT! Good job. I doubt I would take the time to actually build any baits from scratch but I have considered gettin an airbrush kit for years. I have had some ideas for colors and styles that aren't on the market but would like to give it a try.

I tied many a fly when I lived on the headwaters of the Pecos River in northeastern NM many moons ago. But we don't have much use for em here in the swamps and rivers of west TN! ;)

buck,

Some nice looking stick baits.I ssume you air brushed? Question is do they catch fish? Do you sell any?

I would like to try making some stick or crank baits using powder paint. That stuff once applied is bullet proof! Can be applied on jig heads with plactic weed gaurds if real careful with the heat and curing process.Never tryed it on wood products.

AJ52, I have caught several bass on a few of the stick baits. The Top Bass-Oreno has been repainted a few times by myself, and it has caught many bass. The home-made Nip-I-Didde, which is the bottom left caught a realy nice bass that was about 21 inches. I wanted to get it mounts because I made the bait, but money was a factor. [:@]

I don't have an airbrush, I use spray cans and jus take my time. It is very difficult and it takes many layers to make it nice. The layers must be very thin too. Thanks!
