Default Ice Fishing, Ever Fall In The Drink?

I did sorta today. My buddy and I were pulling each other on golf cart today and having a blast. saw this cool spot where it looked like a crick ran into a lake I fish everyday. We drove over to it, my buddy being pulled in sled. we were flying all of a sudden golf cart slams forward and I see water coming onto golf cart. I look back to see my buddy Corey flying and passes me and is sideways and tips over once he hit the water. At this point hes freaking out, Swiming trying frantically to get out...I said Corey...STAND UP. he does his face went from white to beat red, lol He gets out I get in and push cart out. Both got very wet. Went home changed and went back out screwing around.

Once my right leg went thru...then we got the 'eff out of there. There were 3" of so/so ice..then 6" of slush on top of that...so it appeared to be thick ice. That happened this past December.

Broke through yesterday in 30 feet of water while alone. I carry safety spikes but didn't need them. I caught myself with 1 arm and threw my self to the side and kind of rolled out. I was wet from the waist down and it really surprised me. I picked up my bucket of fish and went home.

I figured I better quit becausemy pants were freezing solid and I had to walk about 1/2 mile to get back to the truck. Funny part about it is that I knew I was pushing it. I could see the bad areas but after the snow they were covered and the temps didn't go down below10 at night. They were really biting though and I did manage to get about 5days in before the dunking. I had one leg go through a hole that I chopped during a heating snowball fight! Thankfully that is it.
