Columbia River trip

Got back from a week of hard fishing on the Columbia, above the Bonneville Dam. Never fished for salmon or steelhead before. Wow!
It was maddening seeing all those fish jump & roll and not hit our meager offerings some mornings. The tuleys were dark and shredded, the Cohos and the steelhead were bright (especially the B runners) and tasty.
Last Saturday morning I tempted two 10-12# Cohos into tasting a Fire tiger Wiggle Wart. Boated one, and lost the make at the nest. Too may teeth, not enough line. I'm hooked. Can't wait til the springers show up in May. A salmon fishing and turkey huntintg trip would be the bomb.

RE: Columbia River trip

Sounds like a blast. Do you live in that area? I have long wanted to fish that area for Salmon and Walleye. Is ther Sturgen fishing in that area as well? I just came back from a good walleye trip to Devils Lake ND. I live about 80 miles from Devils Lake. It has grown from 58000 acres about 7 years ago to over 128000 acres today. Good fishing
