A few Nevada Brookies
Well, my mom, sister and I went to Lamoille Canyon in Northeastern Nevada for a few hours today. I managed to land a few brookies out of the creek in the process. Real nice day, and beautiful up there today.

A view of one of the beaver ponds in the area (about the same size as the one I caught the fish out of).

Brookies>?? never heard of them... what were you fishing with?
|
RE: A few Nevada Brookies
Brook trout. They are found in high mountain, cold water streams and lakes. Really good eating, though they rarely get much over 10" and thats a big one. I caught them all on a small piece of worm set about 12" below a small split shot sinker.

Looks like you had a lot of fun. Nice looking brookies! We call them trout "bait" around here, though.;)[:-]

RE: A few Nevada Brookies
brookies are some of the nicest looking fish, arnt those fish a little small to be keeping? i cant image there being much left after there cooked.

RE: A few Nevada Brookies
That's about as big as they get. You just dip the whole fish (cleaned of course) in some flour, and put into apan of hot cooking oil. When the eyes pop, they are done, and you eat them like corn on the cob:D
