Black Synthetic Stocks ?
Do black synthetic stocks have any problems when exposed to the sun for long period of time at the range during the summer? Because of the color do they create any problem with accuracy or are they constructed of materials that it’s not an issue?

RE: Black Synthetic Stocks ?
I think the early injected molded models were prone to moving around a lot with heat and the jury is still out on their strength when exposed to extreme cold. The newer pultruded ones seem to be more stable. Out of all the new ones I like the Butler Creek synthetic the best.. very quiet and very stiff as well. Good value for the money

RE: Black Synthetic Stocks ?
The reason I was asking was because for my next rifle I might have the opportunity to get it in black or gray stock. I was just concern that I might have problems with a black stock ! I really don’t thinks it would be a problem being that it would be a 2005. oldelkhunter, thanks for your comments.:D

RE: Black Synthetic Stocks ?
All of my mcmillan stocks are black and there have been no problems at all in hot or very cold weather. As to the cheaper molded stocks,I haven't seen any problems in my limited experiences with them.
