.45ACP???

I'm looking to purchase my first .45 acp, I think I have it narrowed down to either the new Ruger p345 or the Taurus pt395. Price is a major concern, I'm looking in the $400.00 - $500.00 range. Anyone out there own one of these pistols? I have heard good and bad about both, just wanted some real world opinions.

I am a 1911 lover but .
Of the two you are talking about I have tryed a Ruger 345 and found it worked great !
No failures to feed or extract in the 300+ we put thru it the first day after my freind bought it .
I have never shot the Taurus PT395 (or any other Taurus 45).
I have a Taurus Model 85 that I love and carry.

It sounds like you have made up your mine and set on those two!

IMHO, would be the RUGER!

Does the fact that the Taurus has a lifetime warranty sway your opinion?

all, with all that flow you pulling down, spend the extra 3 bills and get yourself a kimber. I love the way they shoot. I like the eclipse model. And if you have too, maybe the GI model or used colt. :D

Look Big, if I had half of what you throw away I'd be happy! You're lucky i'm not asking for opinions on slingshots! ;)

Hey, mossy showed me where you work. I spend all my flow on gas traveling halfway across the state to work. You roll out of bed and can walk to work.

Yeah but remember, I never have any heat in the truck by the time I get there! I see you want me to take out a loan and buy a Kimber, what if you had to choose between the Ruger or the Taurus?

RE: .45ACP???

If you're set on the Ruger or Taurus, I'd go with the Ruger, because its a RUGER. But, if you're willing to spend $500, there are some used Kimbers that can be bought in that price range. The black "Ultra Carry" and base "Custom's", around here, can be picked up in the $500 range. These are "base" models, but they ARE Kimbers and shoot very well. Just a thought.
