ruger 10/22
Just wonder if anyone else has problems with there 10/22 jamming. It seems like 1-2 out of 10 shots the spent shell gets pulled out but not ejected making it so the bolt can't close. and thats when i'm shooting it really slow. If i shoot it fast i'm lucky to get 2 shots off.

Have you took apart the entire action and and cleaned everything. I find you need to every 500 rounds. Be easy on the oil.

RE: ruger 10/22
Stainless or blued gun? Up until the one I have now mine were blued 10/22s, and I never had a problem. My current 10/22 is the stainless model with the full stock. I too had problems with jamming (still do occasionally), but most of it seemed to clear up when I took it ALL apart, and thoroughly cleaned it.
Also, if you haven't tried it already, you might want to try using a few different brands/types of 22LR ammo. They can be picky at times. You might also want to check out the Remfire Central forum for more info. on 10/22. Link: http://www.rimfirecentral.com/forums/ |

Sounds like weak ammo,Is the gun new ?try some hyper velocity ammo and see how it works.if it's new the action might need to loosen up with a little use.

RE: ruger 10/22
it needs cleaned. you have to drop the stock, then the trigger assembly and remove the bolt. drive pins out remove ejector and the firing pin give it a total cleaning and dry everything. i don't use any oil when i reassemble just a very little silicone and let it dry before you assemble. no oil it just collects power and jams everything up. i use dental picks to clean out all the little spaces. they work great.:)

RE: ruger 10/22
Could be the ammo , try another load.
3 things to try if not the ammo Make sure the extractor dose not have crud behind it built up on bolt face Take the barrel off and look if the chamber is dented in by lots of dry fireing , lightly hone the chamber dent out Replace the Mag. I had a mag that caused extraction problems ( don't know how ,with 1 of the 3 mags I had it jammed , but after I replaced it problems went away ) |
RE: ruger 10/22
Is this a new gun you just purchased. If so I would take it back to the dealer for return to the factory for a thorough evaluation. I have owned a Ruger 10/22 for many years and have probably fired thousands of rounds of all types of ammunition through it and never once has it jammed. I can not believe this rifle would continually jam unless there was something really fundamentally wrong that needed correcting.

I've had the gun for a couple years.
