Hello everyone,
I am a new owner of a .223 handi rifle with a laminated stock, I shot wolf .223 ammo but wasn't to impressed with the groups at 50 yards but i read that the wolf ammo isn't known for accuracy...well I wanted to get others opinions on this rifle, do you think it is an accurate gun? what type of accuracy have others gotten? What ammo does yours like? are there any tricks to get more accuracy out of the gun? thank-you!

Check out Graybeard's site for more information on the handi.

I have a standard barrel .223 and for "out of the box" accuracy it gets about 2 inch groups at 100 yards shooting the Win 45 gr. JHP's. Plenty good for a hunting rifle. As far paper punching and getting one hole groups, my Handi is not. Most of the guys on Graybeard's have some ideas for accurizing a Handi which seem to work pretty good for them. I haven't tried accurizing mine yet.

Some guns have Likes and Dislikes for ammo ,try something else.
I have a Handi rifle and it is a good shooter ,not as accurate as my buddys Ultra Varmit rifle but about 1" at 100 off sand bags with reloads it likes .
His Ultra Varmit rifle makes 1 hole groups at 100 yds

I have a 223 Handi-Rifle. 3 Steps will make your gun shoot.
1. Place a couple rubber washers between the forearm and barrel to eliminate any rough contact between these 2 pieces towards the end of the barrel. (I did a little sanding, too)
2. Send it back and have the trigger re-worked/lightened for $20 including shipping.
3. Find the right ammo. Mine loves the Black Hills 55gr V-max. I can shoot sub MOA (1") groups at 100yds very consistently. I actually have a couple 3 shot groups that I've shot that are nearly hole in hole.
Good luck!

I just got one and am having fun with it and I'm no gun expert ........by any means ![8D] Seems like a good shooter to me and came with a fairly light trigger !
I have been sighting in with some Rem. 55 grain MC 's and the gun is getting less than 2" groups at 100 yrds(probably 3" at 200) with me just leaning against a fence post !
Shot some Winchester 64 grain Power Points too........they seem to be hitting good at 100-150 yrds also !
Still trying to find what the gun really likes..........and may look into floating the front stock eventually...............but so far.........it seems plenty accurate for what I'm going to use it for !

I bought two of them in 223 for my two sons to hunt groundhogs with. The first thing I did was take them to gunsmith friend and ahve the trigger fixed to 3 lbs. They both are good shooters but you will need to tweak the handloads to get the best out of them.

Go find the cheap Winchester 45 grain hollow points. At GB they call them the white box winchesters. Walmart sells them in 40 packs. These shoot the best of all in the Handi rifle. It will shoot light bullets best because of the twist rate in the barrel. I have a new 223 Ultra but have not fired it yet. I had one before though and 1/2 inch groups with the right load is normal. My first one was stolen.
