Tikka T3
Anyone own a Tikka T3 Laminated Stainless Steel rifle? I'm considering buying one and I'm looking for some feedback on this gun.
Do you have any other suggestions? I'm looking for a .270 WSM, Stainless Steel, I like the laminated stock but will consider a synthetic. Looking to keep the cost of the rifle around $700 - $750 Max. (I already have a SS Leupold VXIII 6.5-20x40mm to put on it) Thanks in advance for your help!! |

RE: Tikka T3
I have fired two t-3's,one in 25-06 and one in 300wsm and both would group under 1".I would however mount a much lower powered scope on it for hunting deer as the 6.5x is a real handicap for short range shots. The fact that the eye relief changes so drastically when changing the magnification on the vxiii 6.5x20x40 can also be a problem if you should need to shoot in a hurry.

Stubble I was thinking the same thing that scope just wouldn't do it for me .

I looked at the Tikka's and was going to buy the exact one you mention, unfortunately locating one at a good price is almost impossible. They are pretty light too, keep that in mind for your recoil and the eye relief on the scope. They are absolutely beautiful, handle quite well, fit (me) well, and the bolt is the smoothest I have ever felt on any rifle. Good luck!

Thanks for the feedback. I'm having a hard time making my mind up between the Winchester Camo Ultimate Shadow Stainless and the Tikka T3 Laminate Stainless. I guess I'll buy both, I'm sure the wife will go for that!!:D
Thanks again!! |

RE: Tikka T3
I have a tikka ss laminated 270wsm. It is the best shooting game rifle I have ever owned. Half inch groups with handloads. That is right out of the box. I like the extra weight of the laminated stock. Trigger is simple to adjust with just a allen wrench. It has the same trigger and barrel as the more expensive Sako. I put a simms recoil pad on it. It is a pleasure to shoot.
