I've been using my 870 wingmaster for ducks, pigeons, upland, even deer since 1977. Do'nt even imagine how many thousands of rounds through it- And I can honestly say I've never had a malfunction from the gun. I have other shotguns but thats the one I always reach for.
Just bought my son a 870 express for his fisrt shotgun. Paid I think 239$ for it. Seems like a steal. The new express is dressed doen a bit from the wingmaster, but the guts are the same design at least.

870 super mag with 3 1/2 capability for $250 new at bass pro/ cabelas, kinda hard to beat. I have and rifled slug barrel and a 26" rem choke barrel, can hunt anything in my state with it.

You need to pick a few up and see what fits you. Shotguns are pointed, not aimed. If you can't mount the gun properly, you will struggle with it. The good thing about a Mossberg 500 or Rem 870 Express, is that you don't mind too much if you need to have the stock cut or worked. They are working guns, not collectors.

870
Mossbergs are ok and will probably be nearly as good as the 870.
I wouldn't touch any Charles Daly with a 10 foot pole.

What ever you do, DO NOT BUY THE MOSSBERG! 870 Express is the only way to go.

On a quiet night, you can hear an express rust away
If you feel the need to buy Rem. at least do it right and get a Wingmaster, don't settle for the Ugo of shotguns. I wouldn't touch the Daly either, they have a rep of being good for a year or two and start coming apart at the seems after that. I know several people who use or have used Mossberg 500 and I can't think of a time when they've had any trouble with them.

Or for a few dollars less, a field grade Browning BPS.

I have a Charles Daly auto in 20 ga thats real nice and a great shooter, has been real reliable. I had an 870 exp I used for Turkeys and it was a good gun. I have a 835 Mossburg now,but have never owned a 500,I have friends that Rabbit hunt with them and they love them. I'd say either or would do the job.
