Tikka prices my thoughts

I have noticed their prices creeping up little by little and am quite frankly surprised. They used to be a nice gun for the money and are a heck of a 400 dollar gun but they are no six hundred dollar gun. Must be the Beretta ownership I think they are bound and deteremined to overprice everything in their lineup .

I would have to agree. Same thing is happening to Remington. A few years ago you could bick up a BDL for 500 new. Now they are 650. Prices keep going up, because people keep buying them.

Prices of any foreign made goods (imports) will likely continue to rise as the value of the
dollar declines.

RE: Tikka prices my thoughts

I've been shopping for a Tikka for some time now. Lack of availability coupled with demand, well we all have seen that curve in economics. A similarly equipped Tikka is still cheaper than a Remington or Winchester, comparable to a Ruger in price range. I have been looking at all their lineups and for stainless steel models with laminated or synthetic stocks Tikka has great value seemingly. Only Savage seems to be offering a better value right now or perhaps the Howa/Weatherby Vanguard's.
Right now though, Tikka's are very expensive since there just aren't any! Much to my dismay...

Well I just as soon have a "STEEL" bolt shroud on a gun if I handload not some piece of high tech plastic. I know of one Tikka that had a cracked bolt shroud and it wasn't an Internet rumour. They are way overpriced for what one gets.

I have a tikka t3 in 7mm-08 that i would put up against any out of the box rifle excellent trigger ,smooth action, and very accurate.

Oldelk, I was never impressed by the T3's. I think its a shame that Sika/Berretta made this move. Smart business decision however. Instead of low cost line solution across the board, have a top end company like sika and don't mess around with that. And then have a separate company under the same parent put out a low cost solution to compete with the very large market in the US for under 500dollars.

That way you don't hurt the repuation of the Sika and sell a bunch of guns under Tikka. Unlike remington, that put out two or three different levels of guns under the same name. Then they had that serious turd bolt, that hurt the overall reputation of the Remington. Weatherby did the same thing with the Vanguard. Toyota did it with Lexas, and honda with Infinity. (these are opposite examples).

Bottom line, there is more to a gun than just good accuracy in my opinion. I know you know that more than me.

I / myself, will stick with my over priced Remingtons and Rugers.
I have never thought highly of those crap-O's I mean Sako's or those tikkas,

I dont guess I've ever had a problem with buying a HIGH PRICED Remington. Granted the trigger is not what a CZ rifle is . But I would be carefull with saying that you would compare with any factory out of the box rile out there.

It is not what or how muck you have in your rifles. but how well you shoot. You can have a million dollars in your setup and still not know how to hit the X-Ring.

Just my two.

About a year or so ago I got a Tikka White Tail Hunter in 7mm RM for under 400.00.BassPro had them on sale. I think it was during their Fall Whitetail Classic if I remember right. Looks like those days are gone.I haven't tried this Tikka out yet,but I am impressed with the craftsmanship of the rifle as a whole. The scope rings I used are made by Sako which appears to be a good set up. The Trigger is unbelievable. Ruger needs to take lessons from Tikka's triggers. For 400.00 I think it's a good price. More then that I would look else where.
