Default 22LR Pistol

I am looking for a 22LR pistol. I have been looking at the Ruger Markll, and lll. Do any of you have any feedback good or bad on either one of these pistols? I am leaning more towards the Markll just because it is a little bit less expensive. Any thoughts?

I don't have one of those 2 but do have a browning buck mark that am very happy with. It's a very accurate pistol and in the same price range as the rugers.

I owned a buckmark as well, excellent gun, I loved it. The Rugers are nice as well. I will add two more guns for you to look at while you are at it. If you don't mind a revolver check out the Ruger single six, my step dad had one and it was pretty nice. Fairly inexpensive and you can change the cylinder and shoot .22 mags out of it as well. I like the triggers on these little guns. The other would be the Walther P22 I think it's called. If you are smaller, or getting this for a woman these pistols feel great in your hand. They are around 300 bucks in my area.

I own or have owned several Ruger MKII's 5 1/2 ,6 7/8 and 10" and a 5 1/2" 22/45.
I now shoot the 22/45 in a local pistol league and came in 3 overall the last 6 week league
Great guns .The 10" is used for squirel and woodchuck
If you even think that you would want to put a scope or red dot on it buy 1 that is factory drilled & taped

Its all according to how much you want to spend and if you want to scope it or not. If you want to scope it, go with the MK II Competition Target(slabside) from Ruger. It comes drilled/tapped and comes with rings. Another auto to take a look at is some of the older autos from High Standard. Some of them will get deep in your pocket, but they'll shoot with the best of 'em!! If you want a revolver, I'd also suggest the Single-Six from Ruger or a used High Standard Double-nine Convertible. There's a crapload of 22lr pistols that'll do just fine, but the ones I mentioned are my personal favorites.

I really appreciate all of the input. As it stands I think I will go with the Ruger Markll. But I will be taking a look at the Browning. My neighbor has the Browning and I have shot it a few times. It is a nice gun and he has had it for a long time and never had any problems with it.

I won't be putting a scope on this one, so that narrows it down a little.
