They sell new for $150-170ish, so if it's in good shape I'd say ya got a nice deal on it. I have had one for about 2 years, the 3.8-12x44. It has never given me any problem. For the money it's a good scope.

I have had one for a good number of years and besides me slipping on a snow covered rock elk hunting and banging up the sun shade bad enough that it would not screw back on I have not had a single problem with mine. Zero stayed right where it should have stayed.

They are great scopes for the money.

I have one and have used it for a couple of years with no problems. I would also say that you got it for a good price.

I know there alot "better" scopes out there but for the money the Aetec is hard to beat. I have one on my Ruger 77 .338 win. and I have not had any trouble with it. It survived a trip to Nova Scotia and helped me bag a dandy 9 point up there. Mossy33 swears by them (he's the one that talked me into one) and has them on several 7mm mags. Sounds like you got a deal....

yep, got 4 of them, and love them all, we (all camo and I) got all of ours on Ebay new for around $120, they are on there all the time and can be gotten cheap. The most noticeable thing with them, is the light they let in, I can see with them 5 or more min before I can with the naked eye, I know you can do that too with the leupolds but they are 3x's as much.

i am a leupold man, but i couldn't see putting the extra dough into a scope for my 50 cal muzzle loader for such a short season, and the lower priced leupolds imo are pretty poor, so i bought the simmons aetec 2.8X10X44 in silver matte and this scope has performed flawlessly for 3 seasons, this is a lower priced scope that has changed my thinking on lower priced optics, it has been a pleasent surprise

I have used them quite a bit. Nothing but good things to say about them. They seem to be as good a scope as my Luepolds costing several times more money.
