Winchester Super Shadow

I'm looking at a Winchester Super Shadow. Is this model a lower end model for Winchester? Does anyone have this model? How does it shoot? Is trigger adjustable? What is a blind magazine (Is it similiar to Remington ADL?)

Thanks!! Any info would be appreciated!!

RE: Winchester Super Shadow

I am going to get one after the first of the year when the hunting is over for this year. I just don't know which caliber I want. Right now I am leaning hard toward the 270 WSM. However I want the 25 WSSM as well. What all calibers are chambered in the Super Shadow? I love the look and feel of the rifle but have never fired one. I have about four rifles on my wish list. A Savage 223 with accu-trigger, A new Encore, a Super Shadow and an NEF in 30-30. I should get the Encore first. I also want a 375 JDJ barrel for my G2 Carbine. I hope Santa gets a raise this year.;)

I have a Super Shadow in .270 WSM. I actually won it at a Rocky Mountain Ek Foundation Banquet! HEHE Anyway, I think it shoots very well. It's got a "sharper" kick than my .270 Win had. Fit and finish are very nice. The trigger from the factory is heavy. It is adjustable but I haven't gone in there to adjust it yet. A blind magazine is like an ADL. You have to load and unload from the top. My only beef is that any ammo other than Winchester's is hard to find for the WSM's. I'm getting 2" groups at 100 yards with 150 grain ballistic tips but I would like better. The 130 grain BT don't group well from my rifle. I think I will have to ask Santa for some reloading equipment now. ;) If you get one, I would suggest using Leupold's Dual Dovetail bases. The standard rear base will either block the bolt from working or hang over the back of the action.

I agree with the prior listings, won a Super Shadow in 300 WSM in Elkins, WV benifit raffle. Played with it a little and I can account for the accuracy. The fit and finish are of high caliber for the price. Not a big fan of the "blind mag" or 700 ADL style simply because unloading is a pain. You can convert it as RLB did with a stock replacement and a few inexpensive parts. RLB, by the way I have a Hogue stock on an old Rem 700 BDL, love their stocks, a little on the heavy side for those concerned about weight but I think the fit, feel, and fairly low price will make you forget about the extra few ounces.
