Shotgun slugs?
 

For all of you slug guns users, what slugs have you used and hunted with???What gun do you use and how accurate do they shoot? I plan on getting a cantilever rifled slug barrel for my nova and hunting with it next year so I want to start looking at ammo. Thanks for any info!

I have had good luck with lightfield's and Federal premium with the Barnes HP slugs. The barnes shoot flatter, because the slug weighs 3/4 oz. Where the lightfield weighs 1 1/4 oz. But if you can live with 125 yards max, the lightfield does shoot the best. I was getting 2 1/2" groups @100 yards. The barnes were about the same. But they could be shot out to 150 yards. I would try both of them.

I have an H&R ultra slug .....use the lightfield exp's , 3" groups at 100 and 5" at 150. Thats great for a shotgun. Tried almost all the brands of slugs ....IMO , winchester/remington werent very good. Got the best results from federal & lightfield. Tried 3" as well as 2 3/4 .....3's dropped fast past 100ys. Make sure you get a scope with plenty of eye relief.

My main deer shotgun is a Remington 11-87 12ga. with a rifled/cantilever barrel I use 2-3/4" LIGHTFIELDS EXP with great results

I use a Rem 11/87 smooth bore with a Millit 30 mm red dot . I use Kent KO brenneke slugs , I get sub 3" groups at 100 yds.
