RE: Windage Adjustment Problems, Rem.760

I would first ensure everything is mounted correct, if so it may be possible that tapping is off. I would take it to a gunsmith to have it checked prior to buying anything. Might be the scope itself??? I can't recall a windage problem with any properly mounted scope..but maybe else has and will chime in.

Best of luck!

Agree with skeeter. Never heard of a properly mounted scope that could not be adjusted for windage. Sounds like your mounts or the scope itself.

Good Luck

like the other two, i would check the mounting. if nothing, try to lap the rings. you may also try to leave the rings loose on the scope, set the rifle in a vise and slowly rotate the scope. center the crosshairs so that when you rotate the scope, the crosshairs still aim at the same point. try shooting again, if the problem persist, you may just have to take it to a gunsmith.

if its a one piece leupold base the rear ring is adjustable in the windage, and they can recover for a lot of offset but they should really be centered over the barrell, does this make sence? best of luck buddy

If your rings and mounts can be reversed, reverse them, and see if that helps.

I have mounted many scopes that needed windage adjustable rings. A person should use them for windage adjustment and save the adjustment in the scope for fine or final adjustment. I will no longer use anything but adjustable rings. Most scope problems come from to little remaining adjustment.
