This is one of the best moderately priced scopes on the market. I say one of the best because I agree with others that the Nikon BuckMaster series is also good at decent price. I believe the 3200 to be a much better scope optically speaking than the Leupold VX-I. The Leupold will have a little more eye relief. The 3200 is a good value with sharp optics and precise windage/elevation adjustments. I have looked at these scopes alot. I ended up purchasing a 4200 series to put on my 257 Roberts. You may want to look to Natchez Shooter Supply as they have good prices on Bushnell optics. I have seen the 3-9X40 at local gun shows for under $200. I haven't handled one of these with the firefly reticle so I won't comment on that part. I do believe the days of spending $500-600 for a scope are at a near end. You get optics that are very good from Nikon, Bushnell, & the Weaver Grand Slams for half of that price. The only drawback is sometimes a few extra ounces of weight or a little less eye relief.

I was recently torn between the 2-7X32 Elite 3200 and the Burris FFII 3-9X40.

Both were at Natchez for a great steal. I went to both the Bushnell and Burris websites, and ultimately topped my Ithaca 12ga. with the Burris.

Looking through it, at twilight, I can honestly say that some of the members of this board were correct when they said I wouldn't be disappointed.

Go to www.burrisoptics.com and check out their scopes. Most of the features are usually found on high mid-range/low high-range scopes at $500 or above.

The Elite line of scopes are without a doubt, one of the best scopes in their price range. I've got to share this, even though it is probably gonna make some say, why not me?! I happened into my local Wal-Mart's sporting goods department the first of last year to find the dept. manager marking down hunting items. In the display case sat 2 scopes that had already been marked down once. They were the Elite 3x9x40 and a Bushnell 4x12x40. To make a long story short, I talked to the manager about the scopes and she told me she was fixing to mark them down again. She marked the Bushnell down to $50 and I told her I really wanted the Elite. She looked it over and asked me if I would take it for $70. Brand new, in the box, for $70! Hummm???? Needless to say, I walked away as one HAPPY cutomer that day! Sorry, just such a deal that I had to share. I've have been nothing but impressed with it's preformance and would definitely recommend it to anyone.

I've been using a B & L Elite 3000 for 6 years now and it's a good scope; good bang for the buck. If I were replacing it today I'd seriously consider a 3200 or 4200.

I had one on a .300 Weatherby and after 30-40 shots, the crosshairs broke! Went back to Leupold after that...

That's exactly why I'd go for the 4200. The 3200 is good for the money; the 4200 is better for the money, IMHO.

The 3200 is recoil tested to 1000 rounds with a 375 H&H Mag, whereas, the 4200 is rated to 10 000 rounds.

I own several 3200's as well as a 4200. They're great scopes. I now buy them instead of Leupolds. The only reason thing I'll now buy Leupolds for is hard kicking magnums. I'm not afraid about the 3200's breaking, but the Leupolds do have more eye relief.

A beautiful riflescope . . . you can't do any better for the money. I have a Bushnell Trophy . . . one step down from the 3200 . . . and it is good . . . but I would LOVE to have a 3200. Buy it!

I recently bought a 3200; paid about $200. That's the good news.

The better news: For that price I also got a Marlin lever-action 30-30 attached to the scope!

Buy a scope, get a free rifle...
