looking for opinions on the Armalite ar-15 a4 .223 16" green AR15 223. I am looking at buyin one and would like input on them first.

I have heard that the armalite is a very good ar-15 nothing negative, I myself own the Bushmaster Ar-15 a3 (removable handle) in the Realtree Camo pattern, I can tell you it is a very awesome gun, It cost around $800, i think the armalite was more when i was shopping around. I dont think you can go wrong with either one, but i can say I love my bushmaster!!!!!!

I know that Armalite's customer service leaves something to be desired.

Do you reload? Last I heard, reloads void Armalite's warranty.

I have had both Armalite and Bushmaster ,I will stick with my bushmaster hands down

Reloading voids most warranties, but this only come into play if your reload has a catastrophic casehead failure.

No manufacturer is going to warranty for defective ammo, no matter who made it. If you shoot factory ammo and it blows up the weapon, the ammo maker is liable. If you loaded the ammo, then of course you should be considered at fault.

I've got a rifle with a lifetime warranty. It also came with suggested load data, from the manufacturer. I've discussed load data with a few of the manufacturers. Most will merely disclaim the warranty for problems caused by defective or improper ammunition. Armalite is extremely particular in this regard.
All pressure related failures are not catastrophic, and they are not all ammunition related, even catastrophic failures.

True, as seen in .40 Glocks blowing up lately- sometimes its a gun design problem.

Its true that gun manufacturers won't do warranty work on guns damaged by defective ammo- so the whole idea of a gun manufacturer not doing warranty work because of relaods is moot. If the front sight breaks on a rifle and send it in, I would categorically deny that I ever shot handloads through it;)
