I have one in 12 gauge and love it. What kind of problems has he had. They typicaly are very reliable. They are the best upland semi auto.

His AL48 has trouble cycling. He has had it to three seperate gunsmiths and none can locate the problem. I read in a Brownells gunsmithing kinks book that sometimes gas port will erode and cause malfunctions but I was'nt sure if that would be a problem for a bird hunter shooting a case of shells a year or if one would have to shoot multiples of that to see the erosion. Thanks for any help

I have one in 12ga and never had any problems .. When you shoot low brass you need to remove the brass bushing near the sping so it will cycle the shell ..Bill

i own a franchi 912, and i think that gun kicks some A$$. the gun shoots so smooth, and cycles the lightest to heaviest round i put into it. hasn't jammed on me once, and is just a great gun. franchi is a great manufacture, and with any company you will find a few guns that have some problems, but that is with any gun you look at with any manufacture. its only normal, as long a you find more positive comments about the gun and the manufacture, then negetive, thats usually good. good luck
