Baby Eagle .45?

Hello!

I hope I'm not making a redundant post, but I didnt' find anything on the subject...does anyone have any experience with the IMI Baby Eagle series, particularly in .45 ACP? I'm interested in a compact 45, and the price on these seems to be lower than on (what seem to be) comparable pistols from other manufacturers. What's the story?

Sorry, don't have any experience with the Desert Eagle line.

But, I wanted to welcome you to the boards.

I have been tinkering with the idea of getting a compact hand gun as well. I looked at the baby eagle and it is one heck of a heavy gun for its size and didn't "feel right" in my hand.

I received a lot of very favorable posts on the Springfield XD in 40 S&W. I also really like the feel and weight of the Walther P99.

Thanks for the replies!

I had read some reviews online that really liked the grip and accuracy, but one had said that they had a lot of problems with jamming, so I wanted to see if that was common or just a fluke.

I have a Baby Eagle in the 9mm. It shoots great and the hotter and dirtier it gets the better it seems to shoot. The only time I have had a mis fire was when I loaded some ammo without checking the length of the case, they were to long and wouldn't let the slide close all the way. No fault of the gun. after 5000+ rnds I have never had a 'jam' ei; failure to eject or a stove pipe.
