HOWA 300Win Mag???
 

I currently own a Howa 300Win Mag that I bought for around $380 out the door. It has a stainless barrel and black sythetic stock. Can Anybody give some insight on Howa and if they think this was a very good deal or not. I put a Leoupold 3X9 on it and the Rifle shoots factory loads very well at a 100YDS. I am so far very impressed with its performance.

Well : Quick question for you... Have you ever shot a W- Vanguard?
Becouse that is what you got.
Howa makes the Weatherby Vanguards.
My thoghts would be:
You got a hell of a gun, at one hell of a price!!!

Thanks hunter338 for the reply. I was told that Howa was made by Weatherby Vanguards or is Weatherby Vanguards made by Howa. Anyhow I dont plan on selling it I really enjoy this gun, no recoil and pretty accurate with factory loads. Of course I am a pretty big guy and dont mind the recoil at all. I once shot two boxes out this gun and never bothered me.

Weatherby does not manufacture their own guns.Howa makes the vanguard, another contractor makes the mark V's and still another their shotguns.

I think that you got a very good deal. I just picked up a Howa in 6.5x55 yesterday, in blued/synthetic, for $379, and that was a pretty good price for around here.
