Browning Gloss finish

Was wondering if anyone has been able to reduce the shine of the Browning A-Bolt finish on the Hunter Model (wood stock) without totally stripping and refinishing the stock?

A light to moderate rubbing with 0000 steel wool does a good job on removing the shiny gloss finish.

This stuff works great. It will give a nice luster with out being too glossy.
