I wish you the best with your Rem 597.Maybe you'll have luck and have gotten one that will actually shoot.There has been so many bad reports about the Remington 597 and their wonderful Model 710 there is no way I would ever consider either of them.You asked a question. Like always Frizzellr gave his opinion point blank.He holds back no words.I have seen many of these 597's with problems.It's a shame the way Remington has gone lately. Steadily going down the tubes.To bad you didn't look at the Ruger, CZ, Marlin and Savages.Chances are one of them would have gone home with you instead of the 597.
