RE: marlin mr-7

Takem,

I bought a Marlin MR-7, about a year and a half ago, from a local sporting goods retailer. At that time, the model had already been discontinued and I bought the rifle on a close-out basis for about $350.00. The only calibers available, then, were 30-06 & .270 & I chose a .270 for my son. It's a great rifle with some very good features. We've been very happy with it. It seems like Marlin never really penetrated the bolt action marketplace like they hoped to. Maybe this is why the MR-7 is now discontinued. Too bad - it's a nice rifle. Good luck with yours.

RE: marlin mr-7

I have said many times on this forum that the Marlin MR7 rifle IS the best made rifle in my gun safe. I have Remingtons and Winchesters in there with it. The way they put the features together was a great idea. They took all the best features of the Rem., Win., Ruger and Browning and put them into one package.

I think Marlin pulled this rifle way to soon!
