Another thing to consider, and this depends on the laws where you are, is that it is often not legal to carry an auto-loading pistol while hunting (this is the case here in PA anyway) while the revolver is legal to carry. Also, it may be safer and more fool-proof for an inexperienced shooter. I also agree with checking local laws about someone at your age carrying a handgun. Good Luck!
