Ruger American Compact -- 9mm handgun

I bought this last month from Bud's Gun Shop in KY, on one of those crazy, military discount/first responder type of deals. You know the ones I'm talking about. You get an email from them, blah blah blah.... One time only, buy it right now, before it's gone.... No, no, don't leave the computer and get another cup of coffee... RIGHT --NOW-- :s2:

The Ruger American and the Ruger American Compact are very similar to the old SR9 and SR9c variations 12-15 years ago, in that they are all 100% fully ambidextrous, all the way around. Thumb safety, mag release, slide release, etc... For some bizarre reason, Ruger discontinued the American series, because (rumor) they just didn't meet expectations, they had too many 9mm flavors out there, and people just weren't that into all the ambidextrous mumbo-jumbo. But for me, it's awesome! :s3:

I shot 50 rounds of common Blazer Brass at the indoor range, and had no issues, no failures, nothing at all. Perfect performance right out of the box! I took a photo after I easily field stripped it, cleaned it and lubed it.

It came with a Ruger 12 round magazine & a 17 round magazine (with grip extension).

It will be a perfect compliment to my 1911 .45 ACP and my small "toss it in my pocket" classic S&W .38 snubby.
