Savage Axis 308
2 Attachment(s)
Well like every other Savage I have and or had, this one is another shooter. First time out with 150 grain bullets I was a bit dasappointed. The best I could do was 2.5" groups. But like all the new Axis without the Accutrigger the trigger pull is horrible. I initially tried installing the Mcarbo Pro Trigger Kit but This rifle did not have the hole threaded to accept the Mcarbo set screw so I had to return it. I ended up buying a Rifle Basix SAV-1 trigger and installed in in about 15-20 mins having a sweet 2.5 lb trigger with zero creep or overtravel.
Took the rifle out this time with 180 gr Barnes TSX bullets and shot back to back MOA groups with it (except for a called flyer). For a strong reliable hunting rifle I don't see where you can go wrong with the Axis. |
But .308? :s8:
Nice shooting! - jake |

Nice shooting! - jake The Savage Axis is a fine little rifle without all the bells and whistles but I'll tell you..they all seem to put the bullets right where you want them. |
Now Jake. Bronko's gun safe is always looking to expand. :D
I mean, if you think about it honestly, how is he gonna get through life without having at least 2 .308 rifles? Be reasonable. |

Comeonnn Jake, didn't you know, you MUST have, AT MINIMUM, 2 of every rifle you hunt with. That way if one pukes out, you have a spare!
