Smith & Wesson Model 645

I am hoping for any information about this particular pistol. What little research I have done says it was manufactured for only a few years in the 1980's, which could mean problems (or not).
Gunbroker list a few and the ones with actual bids show a wide range of "prices." The asking starting bids are also widely divergent. There is one on a "local" online auction and I was wondering if it might be worth a bid or two.
The auction was suppose to be a live in person one but was changed to online only because of covid-19.

Thanks to all in advance.

from what I recall on them, was that they were decent guns, nothing super special or any main know issue's
there claim to fame was that the gun was used in the Miami Vice.TV show!
they had I think 3-4 versions of this model till they changed to a 4 digit model system, and then it became a 4 digit model, it had a few up grades, at this point too, but nothing I recall due to mechanical or safety issues with the original model!
just options and some fit and finish like deal!
I sold a few of them way back when, due to I think the TV show , more than any other reason LOL
i you like the gun, then the bidding is up to you, I don't think there is any big investment value in it, unlike the Bren Ten, the show started off with! before switching to this model!
but there will always be folks that collect things and willing to pay more for them!

I had a 645 in the 90s. It was a big honking glorious piece of American stainless steel machinery. Extremely reliable, very accurate, and pretty good ergonomics.

I was quite fond of it because I used it to break up a cocaine fueled drug party that my room mate once invited into my house unbeknownst to me.

Walked in, there were dozens of people I did not know, and they were doing lines of coke and laying all about in various stages of stuppor all over my domicile. Told them to get out. They were unmotivated to listen. One of them ripped my phone out of the wall (this was pre cell phone days), so I had to convince them.

Turns out a big honking glorious piece of American stainless steel machinery is an excellent motivator.

60 seconds later I was standing alone in my apartment.
