Savage rascal .22

Got the kids a Savage rascal .22. overall, it's a great little rifle. The accutrigger is good, the size and weight are perfect for small frame kids. And it shoots better than I can. We've ran about 50 rds through it now, and the kids love it.

My only complaints are that the feed ramp is plastic, it's been no issue however. And the sight adjustment is not the standard click adjustment I expected with a peep sight. Instead it's got a screw that you loosen, then adjust the sight and tighten it up again. I'd rather have a more refined adjustment.

That being said, it was easy to get sighted in. I've included a few pictures and will try to shoot a few groups with it here sometime this week.

The 6 year old is able to consistently hit the .22 reset Target I have. And the 3 year old is hitting gallon jugs and enjoys seeing the water come out though the holes.

I expect it to be a good little rifle for them to learn on.

Jake there are more and more gun parts today that are "plastic". But actually they are a polymer that is really strong when manufactured correctly. I have no problem with manufactures using it in non-stress areas. It cuts down on weight and manf costs. That feed ramp is no different than the follower in a pistol magazine.
Its great to see parents taking their children out shooting. When you going to bring one up the camp hunting with you?
