ruger 77/44

Thinking about one of these for brush rifle 100 yards and in ,anyone have any infro . on them to share?

I've shot one. They would be a sweet rifle for Ohio which now allows straight walled rifles. Lots of levers around, but the 77/44 would be different and unique.

For a 100 yard deer rifle that would work perfectly fine. The one that I shot handled well, shouldered well and shot good enough. I wasn't shooting it off a bench but I think 2" groups would have been possible.

i 've shot my buddies & man are they accurate . but hard to spend that kinda money for them. i own a 44 mag single shot & use the winchester 250 gr bullet good out to a 125 yrds & like shooting a 22 rifle . no kick at all.

Thanks ,also thinking of CVA single shot because of the cost .The Ruger is sweet but also big dollars .

yes thats what i got with a leupold 1x4 got the cva for 199.99 & usually goes for 249 around here & shoots good with the winchester 250 grain & what i really like about the set up . no kick in the gun. ive tmaken alot of deer with a 44 mag handgun. with a 20 " barrel shooting around 1800 fps.

Reading a lot of mixed reviews on the Ruger 77/44 most of which is about accuracy .

Wow, those are pricey now. Henry, CVA and Traditions all offer 44mag single shots for about half that price or much less than half on sale.

Yes they are high ,if I get one will most likely be a CVA .

that would be a excellant choice. i now use barnes bullets in mine . does a job on deer .good luck with your choice .you won't be sorry
